 STEP 2 : PROBLEM ANALYSIS

WHAT THE PROBLEM ???

Although the country has been independent since 1957, but economically we are not yet fully independent. Through British-owned companies, they continue to colonize and squeeze our country's land. British companies such as Guthrie continue to expand the area of their farms until they reach 200,000 acres in 1981 compared to 175,000 in the 70's. Efforts to take back the produce and wealth of the country owned by these foreigners have been carried out by Tun Dr Mathathir

WHY DOES  MALAYSIA WANT TO SEIZE GUTHRIE FROM BRITISH

The British government withdrew education subsidies to foreign students from several countries in 1979, including Malaysia. The action burdened nearly 17,000 Malaysian students who were continuing their studies in the country

Tun Dr. Mahathir who is the Trade Minister warned the British government that the action will only harm them in the long run. The British government on the other hand ignored his warning to them.
